Welcome to soc.sexuality.spanking! Or rather, welcome to soc.sexuality.spanking's website.
soc.sexuality.spanking (SSS for short) is a moderated Usenet newsgroup devoted to adult erotic and recreational spanking, in all its forms. If you don't know what Usenet is, Wikipedia has a pretty comprehensive article about Usenet.
SSS was created in May 1997, though it owes its roots to the Usenet group alt.sex.spanking (ASS), from which it grew, and the even older Usenet group alt.sex.bondage, from which ASS broke off.
Enough of the tedious history. If you're just looking to read SSS, you can't do it here - SSS isn't a website - but there are lots of different ways of reading the group. The easiest place to start might be to point your web browser to Google, where SSS is hosted as part of Google Groups.
But there are lots of ways of reading SSS other than Google. If you'd like to find out more, try this little guide to getting access to SSS.
This site doesn't host the group itself, but it does contain lots of information about the group. Stuff about the group charter and the group moderators can be found by following the links below. Lots more information can be found in the collection of FAQs for the group.
Have fun exploring. Write to the group moderators if you'd like more help. You can find out who they are, and how to contact them, at the link shown below.
It's a bit legalistic, but it has to be. The soc.sexuality.spanking charter defines the group's purpose, and how it works. It's the most definitive statement of what SSS is all about.
There are usually five moderators of soc.sexuality.spanking at any time. They don't moderate the group for content, other than spam and other junk. Find out who they are and how to contact them.
This document defines how soc.sexuality.spanking moderators are replaced. The process happens every year. If you'd like to volunteer, this tells you how it works. Watch out on the group for calls for volunteers, usually in May.
Unfortunately, the group does have some associated costs, and they're set out in the accounts listed here, which show all the outgoings for hosting and domain registration, and all the donations from posters to the group.
